(27) Get a deep tissue massage - Check!
Yes, please.
I woke up one Tuesday morning with a strange shoulder pain. It was obvious to me that it had something to do with my back, which had been tight for months.
[TANGENT: It is a sad story related to the 'not enough time in the day' mindset I've had for a while. In addition to the massage, I have also committed to drinking more water, keeping my work hours closer to 40 and setting aside more me-time. I'm a recovering workaholic.]
I forced myself to call the chiropractor, which is not who I was calling for. I was calling for a masseuse. I have only been there once, but it was glorious. And the best part of this story is that this experience was even more glorious.
The next morning, I was moving my arms around like a kindergartner. And I was smiling like one too.

Update
Here's another update of many days:
(27) I woke up one day with a shoulder pain, along with the usual upper back tension. Sadly, that was the 'last straw.' But, nonetheless, I had my first deep tissue massage and I feel amazing!
(28) Fruit overload!
(37) Uh oh. Um..about that..
(41) Bubble baths are nice, but definitely boring. Two down, one to go.
(46) Game night was a success!
(50) Running, yes. Slowly, yes. (Bonding Between Miles)
(55) Check! More fun than was written about! (Trip to Rapid)
(81) Still growing my list of artists
(97) Files transferred!

EPL
Saturday was a beautiful day.
It was amazing to wake up on my own, rather than by an alarm. It was 7 a.m. and the sun was shining through my window. I got up, ate a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats (my newest favorite cereal), then crawled back into bed with Eat Pray Love. A couple hours later, I closed the book.
At various points in the book, I found my mind filled with inspiration and contemplation. The ending was no different.
Ladies, you should probably read this.
Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
(16) - 2 down, 13 to go.

You're Fun. Let's Hang Out.
I look at goals (69) and (70), like 'You're fun. Let's hang out.' I really like my co-workers, but my work ethic definitely gets in the way sometimes. I am the type of person who works at work (not that my co-workers don't of course), but sometimes I have to pry myself away from my mission to cultivate my friendships in the workplace. I'm always concerned with being called 'the slacker' if I stop to chat in the break room for 5 minutes. It's weird. Tell me to stop.
So, in an effort to curb this habit, I'm making the extra effort to hang out with my SUPA FUN co-workers outside of the office. And, I'm telling myself 'get a grip' more often.
(69) - Read about my Celtic experience here. I was excited to go for three reasons:
1. Free ticket
2. I wanted to go already (nerd!)
3. The opportunity to hang out with a bunch of co-workers
It was lovely! Thumbs up!
(70) - I really miss birthday lunches. We must all have birthdays in the summer, because I remember there were a lot then and not a lot now. I was able to go to Michelle's birthday lunch (actually I think it was a celebration of two Michelles and an intern!) at Bracco about a week ago. I really haven't seen this group much lately, so I was thrilled to be invited and able to go. Hurrah!

Trippin'
I don't know why I haven't taken more trips, because they are amazing!
I visited friends in Pierre and Rapid City over President's Day weekend. I can't believe I don't go out there more often. It's such a beautiful area, and I have such beautiful friends that live there. Matt & Alaina were gracious enough to let us stay at their apartment all weekend. We met their kitties, Mario & Luigi. Don't tell Luigi (or Matt & Alaina), but Mario is my favorite. I would totally get a black cat. I was also able to spend an evening with Morgan, Amanda and Emily, who are all friends from work. I have missed them so!
And, even though government officials closed I-90 on Sunday, Em and I were able to get back home on Monday. Unsure what the roads would be like after opening, we stopped at Wal-Mart to get snackies and a candle. We didn't realize until Mitchell that we didn't have anything to light it (good job girls!). I am happy to report that we did not need one anyway. My fabulous driving skills kept us on the road even when all I could see was ice. I hope I didn't scar Em for life.
Another exciting stop was Pierre, early on in the trip. We randomly planned to stay at my dear friend Heather's family home on Friday night. It was so great to see her family (I love the M's!) and hang out in South Dakota's great capitol. Believe it or not, I'd like to go back.
So, goal (55) is complete. I do hope to 'complete' that goal a few more times. Why would I not?
Other trips planned in the next 1001 days:
(56) Lincoln, NE - I don't think I've told Kate this before, but I'm coming to visit her. I hope she's excited!
(1) Europe - Even though Heather has returned from the PeaceCorps, we still plan to go to Europe. She went to Egypt instead of Europe on the way back so that we could do that together. What a sweetheart :)
(2) Boise, ID - I've been talking about going to Boise since I met my friend Arielle, so I might as well just do it. Plus, I've got this great photo frame that needs a REAL Idaho picture in it. :)
UPDATE: Perhaps I should add Las Cruces, New Mexico to the list too *wink*

Uh...About That...
Not only have I been avoiding this blog, but I have also been avoiding my journal. Correct me if I'm wrong, Self, but I think when you're stressed, you should be blogging and journaling more.
It has been a stressful couple of weeks, at work and at home. I halfway forced myself to blog on Saturday and to journal on Sunday. Now that I'm over that hump, the words are flowing easier. And I do apologize for a rather rough update post on Saturday.
On another note, I have been making great progress with book numero dos for goal (16). This is the second time I have started 'Eat, Pray, Love' by Elizabeth Gilbert, but I think it's sticking this time. Every twenty pages or so, I chuckle to myself at how far I have made it. On Saturday, I made it to India, and on Sunday I made it to Bali. Almost done!
